Useful tips to know when growing fruit trees!

Image
Down below are useful tips I have learned from growing fruit trees, dealing with spider mites, and using pesticides: Fastest growing fruit trees are the pomegranate and avocado trees.    Slowest growing fruit trees are the citrus and date trees.  Citrus trees need a lot of light from grow lights or a sunny window to stay healthy if grown indoors. If citrus trees don't get enough light they will hardly grow at all and they can also get spider mites easily. Date trees suffer from spider mites, but it is really easy to get rid of spider mites off their leaves. One nice thing about date trees is they don't really suffer from fungi too much. The roots of date trees need to be watered thoroughly or they might die. When I first began growing date trees, I lost about 6 of them because I wasn't watering their roots thoroughly. This doesn't just go for date trees, but for all fruit trees too.  What I mean by watering their roots thoroughly...

Update and 4 pear trees and honey mesquite tree!

Image
4 Pear trees Two of the four pear trees aren't doing well. The other two are doing well and have six leaves now, as you can see in the 4 images below: This pear tree below won't stand up anymore. It is probably dying: This pear tree has a browning branch like the one above it, so it is probably dying: This pear tree below is doing really well. It is getting lots of sun today because it is outside: This pear tree below has a long stem and has healthy green leaves. It is doing well: Honey Mesquite tree The honey mesquite tree isn't doing well because it's leaves have drooped. I washed it with water and sprayed with pesticide to help it, but I think it is too late. I will keep it under a grow light to see if it gets better: Thank you for viewing!!

Update on the cherry tree, apricot tree, 4 pear trees, and honey mesquite tree!!

Image
Cherry tree No matter how much I sprayed the cherry tree this past winter, the spider mites kept coming back.  I should have washed its leaves with water, but I didn't. The cherry tree has no leaves now, but I am hoping it will grow more: Apricot tree The apricot tree lost all of its old leaves from being sprayed and getting spider mites during the winter, but luckily it grew more leaves, as you can see in the 2 images below: This is a close up photo of the apricot's leaves: 4 Pear trees 3 of the 7 pear trees that germinated died, so now I am left with 4 pear trees.   3 of the 4 pear trees won't stand up on their own because their branches are too long and skinny which causes them to fall over, or it is because they are becoming weak and will die soon. This pear tree below had a seed shell stuck on it, stopping it from opening, and so I pulled it off. After it came off, it was able to receive light for all 4 leaves. It is a weak...

Update on 3 plum trees and 4 peach trees!

Image
3 Plum Trees Two of the three plum trees made it through winter with out losing all of their leaves from spider mites. In the image below is the largest plum tree and you can blame me for it not having anymore leaves.  During the cold winter month, when it was just beginning to get spider mites, I took it outside to spray it. I didn't think the green leaves would die from the cold, but they did and after all of its healthy green leaves died, it began growing more leaves, but they were quickly eaten up by spider mites so now it is leafless: This plum tree below has leaves but it currently has spider mites too, so its leaves are losing the green color they once had and becoming white. I'll spray it again, even though I just sprayed it 2-3 days ago for spider mites: This plum tree below is also dealing with spider mites, so I'll have to spray it again: 4 Peach Trees The peach trees are the spider mites favorite, it seems. They have been deali...

Update on apple and pear trees!!!

Image
Apple and pear trees The apple and pear trees shown below have been pretty beat up by spider mites. There are only 4 apple/pear trees out of the 15 shown below that are mostly doing well. This apple or pear tree below has green leaves on top. Luckily, it will receive plenty of sunlight today from being outside: This apple tree below has three branches with leaves on them.  These leaves have been badly beaten up by spider mites, because they are a bronze color: This apple or pear tree below has mostly green leaves and a few leaves that are brown from fungi or spider mites: This apple or pear tree below has really unhealthy leaves. Luckily, it will get lots of sunlight today, which will hopefully help it become healthier: This apple or pear tree below has lost all of its leaves from fungi and probably spider mites too. If it grows more leaves, then it will make it, but if it doesn't, it might die: This apple or pear tree below has a lot of...

Update on 7 pear trees and honey mesquite tree!

Image
7 Pear Trees 3 of the 7 pear trees are doing really well because they have four leaves now, as you can see in the 3 images below: This pear tree below still has a seed shell on it, which might be keeping it from opening and growing properly: This pear tree below looks like it might die because there is black on its leaves: I think that this pear tree below has already died because its stem turned brown and it isn't standing up anymore: This pear tree lost its stem after its stem turned brown. I 'm pretty sure it won't grow anymore: Honey Mesquite Tree The honey mesquite tree is doing really well! It  has 7 branches with tiny leaves now and it has 2 more branches starting to grow: Thank you for viewing!!!

Update on 3 avocado trees, 7 pear trees, and honey mesquite tree!

Image
3 Avocado trees This is the tallest avocado tree in the image below. The branch growing off to the side has three large leaves on it. A lot of its leaves are quite big: This is the second tallest avocado tree below. There are new leaves growing on top: This is the shortest avocado tree below. It hasn't grown much taller since the last time I updated, but its leaves are healthier now and aren't being eaten as badly as before: 7 pear trees I thought there were only 6 pear trees, but there are 7 pear trees in total. I'm guessing that one of the pear trees came out of the dirt, so that is why there are 7 now instead of 6. They are all growing well, as you can see in the images below. A lot of them have or are opening up their green seed sides:  Honey Mesquite Tree The honey mesquite tree's branch towards the bottom is turning brown now, which is cool. I am continuing to look out for any spider mites that c...
