Update on 6 pomegranate trees and honey mesquite tree!

Image
6 pomegranate trees The pomegranate trees have survived the winter without hardly any trouble from spider mites. Their leaves are healthy and green too! Most of them have grown taller too through the winter, as you can see in the images below: The first two images show my two largest and tallest pomegranate trees.  This pomegranate tree is doing well, but I am still worried because it hasn't grown the leaves it lost:   This pomegranate tree has many leaves, but some of its branches are empty of leaves, which is worrisome. I don't know if this tree and the tree above it have an iron deficiency or if the winter caused it to lose leaves. It is hard to tell. This pomegranate tree is doing really well! It grew taller: This pomegranate tree has healthy green leaves: This pomegranate tree has lots of healthy green leaves: And this pomegranate tree below is the shortest and smallest with healthy green leaves: Honey Mesquite tree

Update on the germinated honey mesquite tree!

Image
Honey Mesquite Tree The stem grew taller and I assume the white root is continuing to grow longer in the soil. The leaves opened up and there is a new stem or leaves growing in the middle as you can see in the image below.   I have a feeling this honey mesquite tree will grow as slow as the citrus trees I am growing. I water the tree whenever the dirt looks dried out.  I keep it under a grow light all day, and at night, I take it upstairs where it is warmer because it is a desert plant. Thank you for viewing!

A honey mesquite tree seed that germinated!

Image
Germinated Honey Mesquite tree seed You can see the white root and two green leaves from a germinated seed of a honey mesquite tree below. The germination process for this seed began on February 28, beginning with a soak in hot water, then giving the seed a shirt soak a vinegar and hot water, and then soaking it in hot water again, and then placing it in dessert dirt and potting soil. I then made the soil wet, covered the container it was in with plastic to keep the seed moist inside, and I also attempted to keep the seed warm with a heating pad. I also used a grow light to give it light.   Thank you for viewing!
