UPDATE on fruit tree sprouts!
Hello everyone!
I am happy to say that my fruit tree sprouts are continuing to grow. I have them under grow lights and fluorescent light bulbs now. They used to receive sunlight from outside when they sat on the windowsill, but now they receive artificial lighting so they can receive enough light to grow during the winter. I have found that the grow lights and fluorescent light bulbs placed in regular lamps, are allowing my fruit trees to continue their growth during the winter time!

Plum Fruit tree SPROUTS:
I have five in total and they are all doing well!
This first plum sprout is growing the fastest. His new leaves on top are more towards the yellow color than green though; this is because he is growing under grow lights and fluorescent lights!
Apricot fruit tree sprout:
This apricot fruit tree sprout is doing really well. As you can see he is my tallest fruit tree right now!
It was starting to tip over because all of its leaves were on one side, so I fixed him up by shining the light on the other side so his leaves would move to that side so he can straighten up. You can see that his leaves are now distributing themselves around the stem instead of just on one side of its stem:)
Cherry fruit tree sprout:
If you saw my previous blog posts, you would have seen how 4 of my 7 cherry sprouts died completely. That gave me only three cherry sprouts left.
Two of those three cherry sprouts died though, so now I am left with just one cherry sprout, this little guy below. His stem is slowly growing. I can now tell you that cherry trees are extremely difficult to grow from seed.
Date fruit tree sprouts:
Date fruit tree sprouts are very easy to grow. Two of my date sprouts are already growing a second leaf. One of those two with a second leaf is shown in the picture below. Date sprouts grow in a warmer climate, and for me, they grew so well when I live in a colder climate here in Washington state, but that is probably because they are growing indoors where it is warm. Because my date sprouts are doing so well, I realized I can grow other warmer climate fruit trees. So now I am germinating pomegranate, lemon, and grapefruit seeds. These are germinating in a warm dark place right now. I will show pictures of them on my blog when they sprout!
Pink lady apple tree sprout:
First, let me say that all of my red delicious apple tree sprouts have died:(
- Also, I have 3 big Fuji apple tree sprouts.
And finally, the pink lady apple tree sprouts are doing alright. Most of them are growing even slower than the cherry tree sprout. Their growth seems frozen in time right now... Luckily though, I have one pink lady apple tree sprout that is doing marvelously well because it is growing leaves while its stem is growing still!:) You can see this growing pink lady apple tree sprout below.
AND lastly, my PEACH tree fruit sprouts:
All of my peach tree fruit sprouts stopped growing well when they were getting dim light from the window sill, but after I put them under grow lights and fluorescent lights, they perked up and are growing very well now!:) Here is a picture of one of the 7 peach tree sprouts I have that I am happy to show you!
Thank you for viewing my blog, youngfruittreesprouts.blogspot.com
I'll update again when my pomegranate, lemon, and grapefruit tree seeds germinate, which should be in 3-10 days from now!
