DATE SPROUTS!! I am completely impressed by the date sprout trees because they are doing growing extremely well!!!! IN TOTAL, I have SIXTEEN DATE SPROUTS!!!!!!!:):) which is SO amazing!!!:) The seeds are Medjool date seeds that came from the grocery store and were in date fruit. This short DATE SPROUT was the last to sprout and so that makes him the BABY of the group!!!:) This DATE SPROUT is by far the tallest and is 7 inches and 2 centimeters tall now!!!!:) He is growing well in his green container!!! THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY BLOG!!!! I really enjoy taking photos of my plants and showing you the growth of these sprouts!!!!:) I HOPE YOU HAVE lots of success too if you decide to grow your own date sprouts from seeds too!!!

A group picture of fruit tree sprouts!

I wanted to show you how each fruit tree grows a different looking leaf. It's pretty cool to see! In the back row, left to right: peach, pink lady, date, and Leo the apricot tree sprout! In the front row, left to right: red cherry, red delicious apple seed, plum, and big Fuji apple seed! AND THIS IS A GREAT IDEA FOR a FLY PROBLEM: There are many small little flies living in the dirt in the containers the fruit tree sprouts are in.  MY IDEA: Buy sticky fly trap tape and tape it inside the containers which will catch the little flies.  I WILL LET YOU KNOW later if it WORKS in getting rid of the little flies!:) Here is a closer look at the fruit trees leaves, how they are all different! Plum: It is sort of long, oval, and pointed at the end! Apricot leaf: The leaf is round and pointed at the end! Peach leaf: It is long and thin Apple: The leaves have jagged edges! Cherry: It has jagged edges and is round at bottom the

Leo, the apricot sprout is growing so well!!! He is continuing to grow taller and new leaves popping out from the bottom near the dirt, that start out as small leaves, continue to grow bigger!!!:):)

UPDATE on CHERRY SPROUTS

Image
THREE RED CHERRY SPROUTS HAVE DIED :( I've taken good care of the sprouts(sprayed them with water every day and given them sunlight) but they just didn't want to live anymore... This sprout was the white sprout which looked like an angel's wing or swan wing, and it has died:(:(    This green sprout was growing well but now the green leaves died.... This is also another green sprout that was growing well but then the leaves died.... I have good news TOO about the cherry sprouts!!!!! TWO red cherry sprouts are still ALIVE and are growing beautifully!! AND THAT IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED WITH MY CHERRY SPROUTS. I am happy at least two are still alive. Two cherry trees will be fun to have if they live to adulthood!!!:) AND ONE MORE CHERRY SPROUT THAT STILL MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE! This cherry sprout has a white root and seems strong. It hasn't died yet. I will hopefully get it transplanted to new soil to see if it will

UPDATE on APRICOT and PLUM sprouts!!!

Image
PLUM SPROUTS The plum sprouts are growing taller! The plum seed below is a slow grower or might have stopped growing. It hasn't grown a sprout in between the seed sides yet. APRICOT SPROUT The leaves on the apricot sprout are growing bigger and the sprout is continuing to grow taller!

Replanting TWO DATE SPROUTS! pictures!!!

Image
The cactus soil completely fell away from the date sprouts when I took them out of their smaller containers, so that made it easy to let me show you what it looks like: The white root goes down maybe 1 1/2 inches before sprouting into many different smaller roots.  The date seed stays in the middle with its own root shoot it is attached to. The green leaf sprouts upward! First date: Second date with curly white root:  I planted two different date sprouts in two different green containers I purchased from the dollar store! They are planted in cactus soil mixed with a tiny bit of potting soil. And I created a few holes at the bottom of the pots for drainage with a pointed small screw driver!

UPDATES on the DATE and PEACH sprouts!!!!

Image
DATE SPROUTS The green leaves are stiff, thick, and strong! I'm sure the pointed top of all of them is a little poky too. I'm planning on replanting them in a bigger container. Their roots are thick and white too so these will most surely need to be replanted soon! PEACH SPROUTS They are growing taller, but haven't gotten as tall as my apricot sprout yet. They will get there though!!! I just can't tell you how exciting it is to grow my own fruit trees from seed!!! It is so awesome that I definitely recommend doing it. It is so rewarding!!!!!:):)
