Red Delicious apple tree sprouts from seed!
This is what a red delicious apple tree sprout looks like:)
The skins of the seeds of red delicious apples are very hard.
I didn't remove the skins until after 1 week of being in the fridge!
They stayed in the fridge for maybe 3 weeks. They were in a sealed bag buried in a damp paper towel with water and a small percentage of hydrogen peroxide while in the fridge.
Once the seed began to open up, I put it in normal potting soil!
The sprouts are strong looking! They look good! I put the seeds in their cups on the window sill for indirect sunlight during the day!
NOTE FOR PLANTING ALL KINDS OF SEEDS: Make sure the container has drainage, so holes at the bottom. Also, pour water over the soil to dampen it before you even bury your seed in the soil. Once the water drains out, then put the seed in the damp soil. It is better this way so the seed doesn't get lost in the soil when water is poured all over it. It's not fun searching through the soil to find the seed!
With all the seeds I have grown, when I put them in the soil, I do not bury the seed very deep, but very shallow so it finds the sun so it can grow easier!
So that is my experience in growing a sprout from red delicious apple tree seeds, and my advice for when you are ready to transplant the seed into soil:)
